The Mohave County Department of Public Health's
Food Protection Program aims to promote safe and positive public health through
education and regulation of food service establishments.
In Mohave County, there are nearly 2,000
"permitted" permanent food establishments, including restaurants, food carts,
coffee shops, delis and the fresh food sections of grocery stores. Each of
these establishments has employees who are required to pass a test on handling
food safety and receive a food handler card. In addition, Environmental
Health Sanitarians inspect establishments each year.
